From "hospitality" to "not entertaining"...

Hoetsu ran a small restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo in 1956. After that, it opened a five-room inn in Atami, and on January 1, 1964, it moved to its current location overlooking the Kinomiya forest.

And then in the spring of 2016...

Based on the main concept of "Hospitality, not hospitality," we have carried out major reforms, including a drastic overhaul of the accommodation style, a complete overhaul of the interior and exterior of the inn, a complete overhaul of our business systems, and the launch of activities on the web and social media.

"Enjoy the natural hot springs and delicious local fish, then relax in your room without having to worry about anyone else." If you need anything, just dial 9...this is the new style of Hoeketsu.

WHAT'S Not hospitality, hospitality

[No hospitality, no hospitality]...If you just hear the words, you'd think, "What, they're not going to treat you well?" (laughs)

Of course, we provide sincere customer service, but Hoetsu's idea of "hospitality without indulgence" is as follows.

・All rooms are equipped with Japanese-style beds with Airweave mattresses・Streamer air purifiers・Plasmacluster hair dryers・high-speed Wi-Fi 6・Meals can be enjoyed in the dining area・Free drinks bar "Houestu Cafe"・Rentals of chargers etc., and more.

Yes, we do not use a master key to lay out futons in guests' rooms or to bring food to their rooms, as existing inns do.

In other words, we came to the conclusion that the best hospitality for today is to prioritize the privacy of our customers and create a service environment that satisfies them without requiring personal hospitality. This is what we consider to be the best hospitality: hospitality without hospitality.
